The Livingston Scholastic Chess summer camp is a 5-day intensive program designed for kids that aspires to become professionals or are active at chess. Although the program also caters for beginners, our main focus is to equip the active tournament player-kid with up-to-date knowledge and techniques needed to outplay opponents in a chess-world full of information that can either help or stall chess understanding and development.
The camp is divided into 5 sections with each day focusing on important themes in chess namely - opening, middlegame, endgame, tactics and strategy and a closed US Chess rated tournament on the final day. Every summer, we hold a camp in July and August in collaboration with the Doremi School of Music & the Arts. While beginners are welcome but would be in a different section, we encourage kids between the ages of 7 - 14 and a rating of 500 - 1400 to register. Our summer camp for 2018 will be held in July from 23rd - 27th and August 20th - 24th.
